Ayscoughfee Hall Museum
Ayscoughfee Hall in Spalding was originally built in the 1450s, reputedly as the home of local wool merchant Richard Aldwyn. It is one of the most complete great British medieval townhouses to have survived.
Bakewell Old House Museum
The Old House Museum is housed in the oldest standing building in Bakewell, dating from 1534. The building is a typical yeoman's house of the 16th century and belonged originally to the Dean and Chapter of Lichfield.
Battle of Britain Memorial Flight
2007 marks the Golden Jubilee of the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. It commenced operations in July of 1957 at RAF Biggin Hill. 50 years later many of those original aircraft remain on strength with the memorial flight.
Browne's Hospital, Stamford
The Hospital was founded by William Browne, a rich wool merchant of Stamford, and built in 1475 in the reign of Edward IV. With his brother, John, William Browne was largely responsible for enlarging and embellishing the Church of All Saints nearby.
Church Farm Museum
A hidden gem of the East Coast, this rural life museum gives us a glimpse of our agricultural lives before the urbanisation of Britain. In addition to the main farmhouse there is a thatched labourers cottage, traction engine and blacksmiths forge.
Crich Tramway Village
Crich Tramway Village offers pupils the opportunity to learn more about town travel in the early part of the 20th century. We have a one mile long track, and pupils are able to gain first hand experience of travelling by tram.

Kettering Museum & Art Gallery
The museum in the Manor House, reflects the history of Kettering Borough, through collections of social and industrial history, archaeology, geology and natural history. The art gallery houses the works of Sir Alfred East RA, contemporary art, as well as works by local artists.
Leicester City Museums

Lincoln Castle
For 900 years Lincoln Castle has been used as a court and prison. In 1068 William the Conqueror began building Lincoln Castle which dominated Lincoln'skyline until the Cathedral was built. Lincoln Castle is one of two castles in Britain built with two mottes and was the focus for several military battles.
Lincolnshire Archives
The Archive collections date from the 11th century and cover the old county of Lincolnshire from the Humber to the Wash. Records relate to the history and geography of the county, and include; maps, photographs, letters, diaries, deeds and accounts. There is also a large range of historical directories, periodicals, books and pamphlets.
Lutterworth Museum
The museum houses a wide ranging collection of objects, photographs and archives relating to Lutterworth and the local villages surrounding the town. The site also holds a significant collection on leading engineer, Sir Frank Whittle.
Museum of Lincolnshire Life
The Museum of Lincolnshire Life is the largest and most diverse community museum in the county. Just five minutes walk from Lincoln Castle, the museum reflects the culture of the people of Lincolnshire, with collections of social history, agriculture, industry and transport.

National Stone Centre
The National Stone Centre is based on a dramatic, 50-acre site near Matlock. Activities are available on site to tie in with National Curriculum requirements in many subject areas, and the guided trail helps school groups to explore the fascinating story of the limestone rocks by looking at fossil evidence.
NCCL Galleries of Justice
This historic site was in use as courts and prisons from the 1780’s to the 1980’s. Today, this authenticity and history have helped to create a unique and atmospheric award winning museum.
Newark Air Museum
Set on the border between Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, the museum is the site of a WW2 air base. The collection is particularly strong in post WW2 military craft and has many planes of national significance.
Northampton Museums
Northampton Museum & Art Gallery boasts a world famous boot and shoe collection. The Museums tells the history of Northampton from prehistory to the present day. The art gallery hosts a fine collection of Italian paintings and ceramics. There is also a regular programme of temporary exhibitions.
Nottingham City Museums and Galleries
Nottingham’s museums and galleries offer a fantastic collection of artefacts, exhibitions and events across a wide range of sites including Newstead Abbey, Green’s Mill Science Centre and the Angel Row Gallery.
Papplewick Pumping Station
This is Britain's finest working Victorian water pumping station. It boasts a range of original features including an ornate engine house and a boiler house complete with six Lancashire boilers.
Pickford's House Museum
Pickford's House Museum displays room settings and formal garden of the Georgian period, about 1800 -1810, as they might have been in Joseph Pickford's time.
The Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust
The Trust's West Shed Experience is home to a small collection of historic steam locomotives and railway coaches, brought to life by audio-visual displays. Exhibits include Sir William Stanier’s express passenger steam locomotives – 6233 Duchess of Sutherland and 46203 Princess Margaret Rose, plus a 1920s Royal Saloon and 1912 railway testing vehicle - the no.1 dynamometer car.
Ruddington Framework Knitters' Museum
The museum is a small working museum, established by the efforts of the local community in 1971. The site has been restored to show the living and working conditions of the framework knitters who occupied it throughout the nineteenth century.
Rutland County Museum
The Museum is housed in the fine eighteenth century Riding School of the Fencible Cavalry raised to combat Napoleon's threatened invasion. The new Welcome to Rutland gallery traces the county's history from the fossil record to present-day.
Stamford Museum
Escaping the ravages of the Industrial Revolution and the 20th century, Stamford was declared England's first Conservation Area in 1967. The museum's upper gallery contains dispays on its history and development, from its Saxon orgins through to its more recent industrial past.
Strutt's North Mill, Belper
Located in the centre of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, Strutt’s North Mill interprets the development of textiles from cottage industry to factory system. These changes are demonstrated through the display of original machinery in the mill.
Swannington Heritage Trust
Swannington is located in the north west of Leicestershire and formed part of the region's industrial landscape during the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries. The Heritage Trust provides access to the historic facilities in the village and its neighbourhood, and conserves a number of important heritage sites including Swannington incline, Hough windmill and a woodland nature reserve.
The Collection: Art and Archaeology in Lincolnshire
LCC Culture and Adult Education Situated in the heart of historic Lincoln, The Collection was named East Midlands Tourism Large Visitor Attraction of the Year, has won a prestigious architecture awarde and was a finalist for the national Museum of the Year 2006.
The Queen's Royal Lancers Regimental Museum
Located in the splendid setting of Belvoir Castle, this fascinating museum tells the story of the regiment from its origins in the 18th Century to the present day. The collections trace the history of the cavalry regiments that have amalgamated to form The Queen's Royal Lancers.
Toys of Yesteryear
Visitors can step back in time and relive some special childhood memories. In addition to thousands of old toys, we have a large model railway, reproductions of a 1950's toyshop and corner shop. Also on display is a rare steiff display and a full size model of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Wellingborough Museum
The museum presents the history of the town with displays of historical artefacts and photographs. Constantly changing exhibitions reflect the past and its effect on the social and economic life of our area.
Wollaston Museum
The Main Hall, Beacon Hill and the Village Cottage form the three main sites of the museum. Exhibits include artefacts relating to lace making, farming and the shoe trade, and pupils can also visit the site of a medieval castle.
Woodhall Spa Cottage Museum
Woodhall Spa Cottage Museum is located within the former home of the Wield Family, in a bungalow near to the Spa Baths and Kinema. It houses the extensive photographic archive of Johnny Wield which provides a rich insight into local life during the early part of the twentieth century.
