Derby Silk Mill - Museum of Industry and History

The Silk Mill Derby's Museum of Industry and History is on the site of the world's oldest factories, the Silk Mills built by George Sorocold in 1702 and 1717. The foundations and parts of the tower from the 1717 mill are still visible. The displays tell the story of the industrial heritage and achievement of Derby and its people including mining, pottery and foundry work.
