Summary
This pack contains resources and activities which explore how movement can be represented in art, and the ideas and feelings which movement can represent.
The learning package is based around a bronze sculpture ‘A Mighty Blow for Freedom’, by Michael Sandle that stands outside The Usher Gallery, Lincoln but also refers to other sculptures in The Usher Gallery.
All necessary resources, including views of the sculpture from different angles, are provided within the learning package, so it does not rely on a physical visit to the gallery.
The resources and activities are for KS2 Art & Design. They are framed around QCA topic-based schemes of work, but could easily be adapted to a more skills-based approach. They also support cross-curricular work in Citizenship, ICT and Literacy.
We estimate that this learning package should support half a terms work.
