Pupil of Southfield School presented with a prize for the best title for the Rutland Poachers Victorian sessions held at Rutland County Museum.
Tuesday March 7th 2006. Presenting the prize was Peeler "P.C. George Dring" who had led the sessions both at the Museum and at Oakham Castle. Nine Rutland Primary Schools took part in the pilot scheme and all pupils were invited to submit their ideas for a title. Stephanie actually sent in three but the one that caught the eye of the judges unanimously was "Peach or Poach?" [Thomas Peach was the gamekeeper seriously wounded by the poachers]. Stephanie's prize was the new book by Tony Robinson (of 'Time Team' and 'Blackadder') entitled "The Worst Children's Jobs in History".
