The opening of Narrow Marsh: Queen Victoria’s Back Yard is an exciting development in our provision of innovative and high-quality activities for History, Citizenship and cross-curricular learning. In Narrow Marsh children really will learn through experience, participation and reflection.
In Narrow Marsh pupils will learn about - and empathise with - children’s lives in the past. As they step into the lost world of Narrow Marsh, pupils will be encouraged to find out about crime, health, living and working conditions, education and religion in Victorian Nottingham. They will use their imagination and creativity as they explore the space and their decision making skills as they are faced with choices and dilemmas along the way. As they ‘step into the shoes’ of a child from the past - what will the consequences of their actions be in Victorian Narrow Marsh?
Visits to Narrow Marsh are now available – please contact the Learning and Access team to book your visit.
