Apprentice boy Herbert Mitton

This is a photograph taken in 1890. The boy pictured here is named Herbert Mitton he is aged 15 years in this photograph. Herbert was an apprentice at Clayton and Shuttleworth, a Lincoln engineering company. He is wearing his apprentice uniform of a cap, jacket and trousers. He stands in what appears to be a photographer's studio. This photograph is one of a collection relating to Herbert Mitton's working life. He stayed with the same company for 55years.
