Learning Links 2008-09 - massive regional response

48 expressions of interest were received for funding through the Learning Links programme in the East Midlands. For the first time, primary and secondary schools have applied to lead projects with regional museums and archives.

The scope and diversity of applications for funding has surpassed all expectations. Final touches are now being agreed with the 28 museums, archives and schools who have been successful - we hope to get the projects up and running in the next few weeks.  

Project themes for this year include:

• 60 years of the NHS
• Remembering the 1918 Armistice
• Environmental science and outdoor learning
• Art and Philosophy in schools
• Traveller's lives in the East Midlands
• Archaeology roadshow

Many of the projects include an e-learning element and we hope to develop case studies of the projects over the coming year. Many thanks to all those who took an interest in this year's programme.
