This is a view of the magnificent Great Hall showing the Top Table where the Lord of the Manor and his family would be seated.
The top table is positioned on a dais, or stage, to ensure that the lord was clearly seen by everyone and that his position was always the highest in the room.
The order in which food was served was very important, and this always began with the lord.
