Summary

This learning package supports the study of History at Key Stages 2 and 3 and Design and Technology and Science at Key Stage 2.

It explores the themes of work and transport in Victorian times as well as examining how the Inclined Plane Boat Lift at Foxton solved the problem of raising or lowering boats on a steep gradient. The resources also support a geographical enquiry into changes in use of Foxton Canal and a return to the use of canals as a sustainable mode of transport today.
