Located in the centre of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, Strutt’s North Mill interprets the development of textiles from cottage industry to factory system. These changes are demonstrated through the display of original machinery in the mill. The innovative design and construction of this building by William Strutt is the forerunner of today’s skyscrapers and is situated alongside the horseshoe weir and beautiful river gardens.
