The cockpit of a Lancaster Bomber. This was the control and command centre of the Lancaster where the Pilot sat (on left-hand side). The Flight engineer stood to the right. Behind them sat the Navigator. When the planes were in use during WWII there was only one set of controls not two. There was a little folding seat for the Flight Engineer that could be put up for take-off and landing or for a rest but the Flight Engineer generally stood for most the flight.
