Bakewell Old House Museum has developed a cross-curricular loans resource which can support teaching for key stage 1 and 2 pupils.
From Tudors to Victorians; the changing space at Cunningham Place resource box and model
Curriculum Links: Key Stage 1 and 2 History, Geography, Design & Technology, Art & Design, Science and Literacy
The loans box and model chart the development of the house across Tudor and Victorian periods to the present day. The unique story of the house at Cunningham Place is told in the resource box through objects, maps, plans, photographs and documents.
The model visually demonstrates the growth of the building and can be used alongside the contents of the resource box. The box and model are accompanied by a teachers' booklet providing all the necessary information about the resources and contains a variety of inspirational suggestions on how a resource can be used for cross-curricular classroom activities.
